Tyrone pounded out 17 hits and put the game away with nine runs in the top of the fourth in a 17-1, four-inning win over Bishop Guilfoyle Academy Wednesday in high school softball at Fye Field in Logan Township.

Winning pitcher Kaitlyn Rockwell struck out nine and helped herself at the plate with three hits and two RBIs, while Samantha Shaw recorded three hits, including two doubles for the Lady Eagles.

Amariah Sprankle collected two hits and three RBIs for Tyrone, Hannah Cramer and Sage Harris drove home two runs apiece, while Lucy Fogleman and Ally McNelis came through with two hits each.

Payton Kephart gave the Lady Marauders their only run on a solo homer in the fourth, while CeCe Rumfola doubled.

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Hollidaysburg gave up a big 12-run third inning to Bellefonte en route to a 17-2 loss in five innings.

Mikaylah Vincent bagged three of the four Lady Tiger hits, while Maggie Hicks delivered a solo homer in the bottom of the third, and Lexi Peacock drove in the other run with a sacrifice fly.

CC cruises to victory

EBENSBURG — Central Cambria scored six runs in the bottom of the first, eight in the second and ended the contest with one in the third to earn a 15-0, three-inning victory over Johnstown.

Winning pitcher Rowyn Ruddek smacked a three-run homer and tallied another RBI, Keira Link ended her day with two hits and two runs batted in, Aubrey Ruddek drove in a pair of teammates, while Kathryn Scott came through with two RBIs for the Lady Red Devils.

Dragons shut down

HUNTINGDON — Central got doubles from Aubrey Rhodes and Norah Bechtel but were shut out in a 4-0 loss to Huntingdon.

The Lady Dragons struck out 14 times and didn’t walk on the afternoon.

The double by Rhodes was the 75th career hit for the senior.
